Salomè marble

salome marble

Salomè marble is a classic Turkish natural stone which has been widely used in past ages to adorn the historic buildings of Turkey. Nowadays, the use of Salomè marble is more limited due to its scarce availability, but it is still an extremely popular and requested material.
The Salomè marble quarries are located in the cities of Ayvacik and Eskisehir, from which small and medium-sized blocks are extracted.

The dark gray background of the Salomè marble is elegantly crossed by numerous veins with a pale pink color (but sometimes also white and golden) and stained by irregular intrusions of dark red. All these color contrasts of Salomè marble create an incredibly elegant and refined overall color tending to purple and lilac.
As happens with most of the ornamental stones characterized by heterogeneous patterns and designs, the polished or honed finish is able to exalt particularly well the beauty of Salomè marble.
Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, Salomè marble is suggested for the construction of kitchen tops, shower trays, fireplaces and stairs as well as floors and vertical coverings.
