Calacatta Borghini Marble

calacatta borghini marble

Calacatta Borghini is a marble of Italian origin famous all over the world and one of the most precious marbles of the Carrara quarry. Calacatta Borghini marble is a material used in architecture and luxury construction since Roman times, undoubtedly made famous by Michelangelo who also used this variety of Calacatta for the creation of his works.
The high Calacatta Borghini marble price derives above all from its origin. Calacatta Borghini marble comes from a single quarry, the Calacatta Borghini quarry, which is one of the oldest and most famous quarries in the province of Carrara, located in particular in the town of Crestola. The production and extraction of Calacatta Borghini slab has become very limited in recent years, and this factor has contributed to making Calacatta Borghini an even more rare, sought-after and expensive material. Calacatta Borghini marble is now a registered trademark and represents an excellence of the made in Italy stone industry.

Borghini Calacatta, one of the most classic of all white marbles, is a veined marble with a microcrystalline structure characterized by remarkable hardness and extraordinary luster. The clear white (or ivory) background of Calacatta Borghini marble appears crossed by elegant and sinuous dove-gray veins and shades of honey and gold. This combination of color features embodies the look and feel of traditional luxury suitable for both times past and present. However, there is no single Calacatta Borghini stone pattern: while some slabs show a warmer background tending to ivory and rust-colored hues, other Calacatta Borghini slabs have a bright white background, almost transparent, crossed by thinner gray veins. Ultimately, the varieties of Calacatta Borghini marble extracted in the Carrara quarry of the same name may differ but what unites them is undoubtedly the high elegance and refinement.
The captivating range of movements of the Calacatta Borghini marble is able to give class, richness and charm to almost any room in the house. However, its prominent gray veins and amber shades on a white background are particularly popular for creating a classic and refined style in kitchens and bathrooms.
