Project in Traver Onyx for Preserve Life in Atlanta

traver onyx project
For the Preserve Life hotel in Atlanta, nestled in the forest, Dedalo Stone created a series of natural-stone elements that combine sculptural aesthetics with advanced technology. The use of lightweight onyx and traver onyx panels enables backlit surfaces with strong visual impact, while ensuring structural lightness and reliability. The images document the laboratory phase, showing the dry-lay process and the application of finishing treatments.

Lightweight Backlit Onyx and Traver Onyx Surfaces

The project includes bathroom countertops, monolithic sinks, bar counters, and reception desks, all made from onyx and traver onyx, materials chosen for their natural translucency. Each element is lightened through transparent honeycomb support panels, allowing for built-in backlighting that enhances the stone’s veining with a soft, vibrant glow. The result is a uniform internal illumination that transforms each surface into a luminous architectural feature.

Precision Workmanship in the Laboratory

The dry-lay phase, shown in the workshop images, is essential to guarantee vein continuity and perfect adhesion between the stone and its technological support. During this phase, the team performs manual finishing, piece alignment, and checks for optimal light diffusion, ensuring that every element installed in the hotel meets the highest standards. Dedalo Stone oversees every detail — from surveying to prototyping to final installation — turning precious materials into functional and scenographic architectural components.
