This project features an impressive base in Classic Roman Travertine, crafted while preserving the natural quarry crust, the raw outer surface of the block as extracted from the mountain. This untreated, tactile texture creates a striking dialogue with the refined finishes of the cabinet above, adding authenticity and sculptural presence to the space. The stone is finished with natural-tone cement stucco, ensuring structural stability and chromatic harmony while maintaining its genuine, rugged aesthetic.
Resting on the travertine base is a custom-designed brushed and stained oak cabinet, tailored precisely to integrate within the architectural layout of the room. The vertical lines and brushed texture highlight the wood grain, introducing warmth and rhythm to the interior. The balance between the raw stone and the finely crafted wood creates a sophisticated fusion of natural materiality and contemporary design, turning the cabinet into a refined, bespoke architectural element.
