The Carrara marble par excellence is the white Carrara marble. However, within the entire range of marble from the Apuan quarries, it is possible to find, based on the minerals and impurities present, different colors, patterns, textures, grains and textures: here we come to the pink Carrara marble.
First of all, it should be pointed out that it is improper to treat pink Carrara marble as a type in its own right with its own technical characteristics. The term “pink Carrara marble” does not come from a specific variety but from a particular shade that distinguishes some blocks of Carrara marble. Experts in the stone industry, therefore, often use the name pink Carrara marble to refer to a marble extracted in the quarries of the Apuan area, tending to beige or cream and characterized by veins or pink shades.

Like all Carrara marbles, also the so-called pink Carrara marble is characterized by an important presence of calcium carbonate which makes the stone particularly bright. Unlike the classic white Carrara marble which is practically free of impurities, pink Carrara marble has a certain quantity of elements such as iron oxides, silt, clay and sand that determine its warmer and rosy color.
Most of the pink marbles are used for the construction of floors and walls, especially in the bathroom. Similarly, pink Carrara marble is often used as flooring in different areas of the house and is particularly appreciated for the warm and welcoming mood that it manages to confer to the environment in which it is placed.
