Bedonia Stone

pietra di bedonia

Pietra di Bedonia is a sedimentary rock of medium availability typical of the Apennine area in the province of Parma. Pietra di Bedonia is considered a classic product of Italian building and is easily recognizable due to its gray and silver color with veiled shades tending to blue.
Also known as Sandstone or Carniglia stone, Pietra di Bedonia has been quarried since the 1900s in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and precisely in four quarries located precisely in Bedonia and in the hamlet of Carniglia.
Pietra di Bedonia boasts a compact and homogeneous structure, a fine grain and excellent resistance and workability: all these qualities make Pietra di Bedonia, as well as an excellence of the Parma area, an incredibly versatile construction material.
